The students were awarded with prizes and Certificates. The event was planned for the whole day. The students were found very excited during the event. This event was a source of motivation for the students of 3rd year and 2nd year of B.Tech
Many projects as mentioned below were displayed on this day:-
Vertical Axis Wind Mill Turbine
Vertical wind turbine and solar panel solution that enable a complete system to be optimized for maximum efficiency and reliability. A wind turbine is a device that converts kinetic energy from the wind to electrical power.
Regenerative Braking System
It is an effective method of improving vehicle efficiency and already in use in EV. Theoretical investigation of this system shows 25 % saving in fuel consumption. It works on duty cycle and control strategies
Magnetic Train
Magnetic Train works on the principle of magnetic levitation in which with the help of strong electromagnets we can levitate the train. Basically it will work on the principle of magnetic field produced by repulsion and attraction of the poles of the electromagnets
Future Green Car
Future Green Car is basically a fuel free car which uses solar energy, wind energy and mechanical energy to drive the car. If the project can work efficiently then the pollution can be controlled and a lot of fuel can be saved using this car for using solar energy solar panel is used and for wind energy arrangement is done as well.

Spring Powered Vehicle
This works on the strain energy stored in the spring which is called restoring effect. This was also one of the complete mechanical projects that only uses mechanical systems and works very efficiently.

Four Pistons Sinusoidal Electromagnetic Engine
This electromagnetic engine works on the sinusoidal arrangement. This piston uses 4 pistons for running of the engine. It uses electromagnetic system and superconductors. This project is innovation in engine technology. A high amount of torque is produced by this engine
90 Degree Steering System
This project deals with the details of four wheel steering (4WS) system. With the help of this system all the four wheels can be turned to any direction using the steering. Thus the vehicle can be controlled more effectively especially during cornering and parking. Also the speed of the vehicle can be increased or decreased.
Unidirectional Motion System
This project was the totally mechanical working project and focuses on unidirectional motion system. That allows motion in one direction. This system is designed for generating uniform unidirectional motion from non uniform reciprocating motions
Hybrid Chimney
Solar hybrid chimney is a new method of producing electric power from a solar wind hybrid system it combines three old proven technologies i.e. Chimney effect, Green House effect and wind turbine
Robotic Arm
This project works on mechanical linkages and sensors to run the robotic arm. The project is new innovation in robots and the robotics helps to minimize human efforts.
Hybrid Car
Hybrid car is basically which uses solar energy, wind energy to drive the car. If the project can work efficiently then the pollution can be controlled for using solar energy solar panel is used and for wind energy arrangement is done as well.
Power Steering
This project describes the use of electrical power steering which tells about the use of small effort for the steering system to control the vehicle. With the use of power steering the work of driver for controlling the vehicle gets lesser.
Electricity Generation with the Help of Exhaust Gases
The use of exhaust gases that are waste during the working of an engine is now being used for very useful works from them electricity generation is one of the major utilization. This will help us solving a lot of energy crisis problem
On this occasion, Mr. Sunil Kumar, H.O.D (ME), and all Faculty members of Mechanical Engineering Department were present.

“Seminar on Construction Management at SGI”

Department of Civil Engineering organized a seminar on “Construction Management” at Samalkha Group of Institutions (SGI) for all students of Civil Engineering on 18th November 2014. The event was chaired by Dr. Rajesh Goel, Director SGI; Mr. Amit Verma (HOD CSE); Mr. Gaurav (Coordinator, Civil), Mr. Shashank (Coordinator, Civil) and other faculty members. Civil Engineering deals with design, construction & maintenance of physical and naturally built environment, including works like road, bridges, canals & buildings. It is second oldest engineering discipline after military engineering.
The guest Dr. Rishipal, Professor in Management, highly geared up the seminar with his presentation on the Construction Management by citing various examples like that of Mahatma Gandhi, Anna Hazare, Mukesh Ambani etc cetera. Construction is an art & science to form material or immaterial objects, systems or organizations and comes from Latin word constructionem (from come “together” & structure “to pile up”). It is used as a verb: the act of building & a noun: how a building was built, the nature of its structures. Management in business & organizations is a function that coordinates the efforts of people to accomplish goals and objectives using available resources efficiently & effectively. Management comprises of planning, organizing, staffing (bringing human resources to execute whatever you have planned), leadership (speaking in such a way so that people will start believing you) or directing (information, command, order to manage something) and controlling an organization to accomplish the goals. He told the students that most reliable models are available in this world are Mathematical Models. When Mathematical calculations are correct, then physical model is approved. Present day is a day of six sigma quality. In civil engineering, construction is itself a production. He also explained various sub disciplines of construction management under civil engineering like Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Forensic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering etc cetera. He took an example of a man (Mr. Ambani) who was standing at petrol pump with a minimum salary having dream or vision of creating best refinery in world.
The Seminar was arranged and coordinated by energetic students Sumit and Rajan under the guidance of Mr. Gaurav (Coordinator, Civil) and Mr. Amit Verma (HOD, CSE). All the students are actively participated in FAQ session. All the faculty members of Civil Engineering Department played an important role in organizing and coordinating the event.
