Workshop on ‘Placement Ready’ in Association with Mind Trex

A National level workshop on “Placement Ready” in Association with Mind Trex was conducted by CSE Department on 30th September 2014 for its Final Year students of all branches. This workshop focused on Career Development. The event was chaired by Dr. Rajesh Goel, Director SGI; Mr. Amit Verma (HOD CSE); Mr. Amit Sinha (Placement Manager); and other faculty members of various Departments.  Dr. Rajesh Goel, Director SGI addressed students by giving some tips on Placement Ready. He also told the difference between Job and Placement. He explained that the meaning of job is to get monetary benefits by taking some real life examples and meaning of placement is to look forward to career. He also emphasized on to create some references for good job and to have good rapport with seniors.

The eminent Personality who guided the students were Mr. Sunil having 10+ years of experience and worked in companies like LG, Voltas etc and Mr. Lalit worked in HDFC Bank, IFB appliances and currently running his digital marketing company. Mind Trex is a team of people having more than 30 years of corporate experience in India & Internationally. It gives Professional career services such as Resume Development; Mock Interviews; Communication Skills; Personality Development; Professional Networking etc. Mr. Sunil discussed about recruitment process. The purpose of the process is to pick up most suitable candidate who would meet requirements of job and find out which job applicant would be successful if hired. He also stressed on Job Matching.

They also gave some tips on “Resume Building” on its structuring and organization, Formatting, font size, SMS Lingo, spellings & grammar, Name, contact information etc. Five points that Interviewer must kept in their mind is Dressing Sense, good timing, Body language, queries.

All the students actively participated in FAQ session. All the faculty members of CSE Department played an important role in organizing and coordinating the event. The event was coordinated by Mr. Anish Shandilya (AP, CSE) under the guidance of Mr. Amit Verma (HOD, CSE) and Mr. Amit Sinha (Placement Manager).
